This tool compares user-entered readings against a user-declared tolerance rule. It does not perform accredited calibration, establish metrological traceability, evaluate measurement uncertainty or replace a formal calibration certificate. It does not claim ISO/IEC 17025 compliance and does not certify equipment. It does not evaluate guard bands or false-accept/false-reject risk. It does not replace applicable procedures, standards or professional judgement. It does not determine suitability for safety-critical or regulated release. Each instrument uses a single declared engineering unit - no unit conversion is performed. Reference values are assumed to come from a suitable external standard or source. The tolerance rule (fixed units, percentage of reading, or percentage of full scale) is entirely user-supplied. Full scale means the declared instrument span (maximum minus minimum), not the maximum numerical value alone. Percentage-of-reading tolerance uses the absolute magnitude of the reference value and cannot be evaluated at a zero reference. Pass/fail results use only the entered reference, as-found and as-left values. Measurement uncertainty is not included in any calculation. Guard-banding is not included in any calculation. Environmental effects on the instrument or reference standard are not modelled. Drift between calibration events is not modelled. Hysteresis is not modelled. Repeatability is not modelled. Instrument resolution, digits and counts are not modelled. Results are informational and require independent verification before relying on them for safety-critical, regulated or contractual decisions.
